FreightWaves is looking for a Senior Manager, Strategic Finance to support best-in-class finance capabilities by partnering with teams across the company to drive financial and strategic insight through deep goal-oriented financial analysis, long-range planning and performance measurement.

What you will be doing:

• Prepare, analyze, and summarize monthly financials and key performance indicators (KPIs) reports for use by internal and external leadership teams.
• Work closely with the Accounting to assist with fiscal period variance analysis and, under direction of CFO, own production of Monthly Budget v Actual analysis.
• Work closely with Sales leadership and Salesforce Admin to provide lead-to-order reporting and analysis, and provide financial guidance under direction of CFO.
• Develop, execute and effectively communicate significant analyses that identify meaningful trends and opportunities across the business. Leverage tools and systems to quickly access data and present meaningful, concise information to various levels of management.
• Maintain ownership and continue development of comprehensive, driver-based financial models with an integrated set of financial statements, assumptions, and metrics.  
• Provide strong business analytic decision support on numerous revenue and cost initiatives, return on investment analyses and/or other assigned projects.
• Support best-in-class finance capabilities by partnering with teams across the company to drive financial and strategic insight through deep goal-oriented financial analysis and long-range planning.
• Support both quantitative and qualitative analysis influence decisions, including market segmentation and sizing, market trend and competitive landscape analyses, etc.
• Support key business initiatives including new products, pricing, strategic partnerships, and new markets. 
• Ability to travel 4-6 times per year to company events in Chattanooga, TN at company’s HQ

What you bring to the table:

• Experience building data driven, driver-based models
• Experience with working directly with sales team management
• Capable of interpreting findings, and communicating valuable, actionable insights
• Ability to work autonomously, perform well under pressure and manage change effectively
• Takes initiative with analysis and has a strong intuition for numbers and the business
• Improve processes for extracting data, producing results, and making decisions
• Strong communication (verbal and written) and presentation skills
• Advanced skills in Excel, PowerPoint and Salesforce, bonus points experience with Sage Intacct
• 5+ years of relevant experience in financial modeling, planning and analysis, with a track record demonstrating excellent technical skills
• Venture backed startup, SaaS business model experience, Big 4 and/or Investment Banking experience a plus
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field preferred
